( Cosmetics and Skin care Manufacturing)

Quality Control and Quality Assurance for a cosmetics manufacturer

Testing and documentation of finished skincare products and raw materials.

I. Testing to be performed on finished goods:

  • Stability Testing
  • Physical and Chemical Properties: Monitoring of specific gravity, viscosity, and pH levels.
  • Microbiological Testing: Use of prepared plates and performance of microbiological testing as required.
  • Long-term Observation: Monitoring for changes in color, texture, or odor over a 12-week period.
  • Standard Comparison: Evaluation against established physical standards.
  • For raw material testing, the candidate must be able to conduct physical comparisons of new products against standards and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) against previous records to ensure consistency.

II. Formalize our Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.

  • Manage and maintain all required product and material specifications
  • Lead the creation of a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Assure the availability and calibration of all quality instruments.
  • Collect, track, and analyze Quality performance data and develop and lead the execution of action plans to continuously improve.

III. Quality Assurance

  • Implement formal systems to verify conformance of materials and products.
  • Implement necessary controls, labeling, etc., to ensure only properly inspected and released materials are transacted.

IV. Quality Process Control

  • Work with the Production Team to implement the necessary in-process controls, testing, and inspections to reduce variability and detect nonconformance as early in the process as possible.

V. Customer Complaints and Nonconformance

  • Create and administer the system for documenting, investigating, and resolving product and packaging-related customer complaints.
  • Document, investigate and resolve internally identified nonconformances.
  • Establish root cause of issues and required corrective and preventive actions to eliminate.
  • Establish monitoring and review systems to monitor progress and identify unresolved issues.
  • Establish a product recall procedure
