Position Summary...As a Senior Systems and Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the maintenance, automation, and optimization of critical infrastructure systems to ensure high availability and performance. This role involves designing and implementing scalable solutions and automating routine tasks using advanced scripting and configuration management tools. You will collaborate across teams to assess requirements, resolve complex issues, and support infrastructure growth aligned with business objectives. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in system reliability, security, and operational efficiency within a dynamic technology environment.
About the team:
The Mainframe Independent Software Vendor team manages third-party software critical to operations, security, data management, scheduling, and connectivity. They ensure secure, reliable software deployment through ownership accountability, access controls, documentation, upgrades, vendor coordination, and compliance with enterprise standards. Serving as a bridge between engineering, security, audit, and vendors, the team accelerates issue resolution, reduces risk, supports audit readiness, and proactively addresses vulnerabilities. Their work helps maintain stable, secure, and resilient mainframe systems that support uninterrupted enterprise operations.   • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of ISV products on z/OS, including installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, patching, and enhancements.
  • Lead complex incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and cross-team/vendor resolution to minimize risk/downtime.
  • Maintain centralized repositories of issues, resolutions, runbooks, configuration standards, and operational knowledge.
  • Ensure configuration standardization, release consistency, security remediation, and compliance with enterprise requirements.
  • Govern change management, access controls, audit readiness, documentation, and approval processes.
  • Monitor ISV health, performance, reliability, leveraging AI-assisted analytics to identify risks and accelerate resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor associates, and drive adoption of operational standards/best practices.
  • Develop automation and AI-enabled solutions using JCL, REXX, Python, SQL, and integration tooling to improve efficiency 
 
What you'll bring:
  • Expertise in z/OS ISV lifecycle management, including onboarding, upgrades, configuration management, decommissioning, and vendor coordination.
  • Experience supporting complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments, including maintenance, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Strong troubleshooting, escalation, and solution evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, access governance, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness.
  • Proficient in JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL automation.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools for observability, incident analysis, anomaly detection, documentation, and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with key ISV products, including BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG.
  • Available for on-call support and incident resolution.
