Summary:

FET Variperm is a leading service and supply company specializing in the design and manufacturing of sand and flow control technology, well completion and work over tools, and cased hole fishing services. Our engineered customer-focused solutions allow us to respond quickly to the ever-changing variability of our customer’s needs.

The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales of Variperm products and services by developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role promotes awareness of Variperm’s offerings, gathers market intelligence, and contributes to strategic growth initiatives. The position focuses on the sale of downhole sand control and flow control devices.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Market Variperm products and services to new and existing customers and profitably grow the relationships.
  • Have a clear understanding of customers' needs and the Variperm products and services that meet those needs. Provide intelligence to ensure future needs are identified and targeted.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of market knowledge, competitive information, customer relationships, marketing and sales strategy, sales networks to win customer accounts and increase market share.
  • Maintain customer accounts to ensure the seamless supply of products and services.
  • Increase awareness and industry visibility of Variperm’s products and solutions through customer presentations, industry associations and established/new networks.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to set and meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets.
  • Work with the sales team and other internal teams, to proactively anticipate and meet customers' needs, including active participation at sales meetings.
  • Preparation, submission, tracking and closing of RFQ, RFP and quotes.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, drive, and ownership in all aspects of the role.
  • Recognized as a strategic partner through strong relationships with employees, contractors, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong command of English language both written and verbal.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate technical information with engineers, manufacturing and inventory/purchasing departments.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex products and appreciate general engineering and design principles to better clarify customer needs.
  • Works independently with clients, including occasional site visits, while prioritizing their best interests.

    Education

    • Post-secondary education in a relevant field; engineering degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.

    Experience

    • 5+ years of progressive business development experience in the oil and gas industry, with specific knowledge of the Canadian oil and gas market
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Deep understanding of the oil and gas value chain and manufacturing processes
    • Established relationships with oil and gas industry in Canada
