The Opportunity

The Manager, Veterinary Strategic Partnerships reports to the Director, Veterinary Strategic Partnerships. This role will be a critical piece of the development and delivery of value-added medical resources and training to assist in mutual growth for both Dechra and our customers.

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Develop and present technical seminars as needed for strategic veterinary accounts, such as shelter/non-profits, corporate accounts and distribution partners in support of Dechra's product line and sales goals. Schedule is coordinated in partnership with applicable Sales, Marketing, and Veterinary Services leadership.
  • Non-regionally based support of Dechra's product line and sales goals including clinic visits, technical seminars (live or virtual) as needed at veterinary continuing education meetings, and customer events.
  • Support applicable Sales, Marketing, and Veterinary Services managers through attendance of trade shows, national, regional, and local meetings related to corporate hospital groups, shelter/non-profits, distribution partners, and university/pharmacy groups.
  • Works closely with Sales ,Marketing and Veterinary Services managers to recruit new KOLs for current and pipeline product support .
  • Assist in developing/presenting sales training to Dechra personnel, Dechra contractual KOLs/technical advisors, and distribution partners on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with the coordination of KOL activities for national conferences and regional field events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across Dechra's Strategic Account base,be the "medical face" of Dechra to these customers.
  • Assist in developing/presenting technical product training to Dechra personnel, Dechra contractual KOLs/technical advisors, strategic customers, employees and distribution partners on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with the coordination of KOL activities for national conferences and regional field events.
  • Maintain technical competency especially in fields directly related to Dechra products.
  • Monitor veterinary literature/VIN for articles/comments related to Dechra products/activities.
  • Project a positive image of Dechra and its products to the veterinary profession and comply with all regulatory standards governing veterinary pharmaceuticals.

  • DVM/VMD required; Board Certification (DACVIM, DACVD, ABVP, etc) desirable
  • Active Veterinary License, in good standing
  • At least 3 years clinical experience as a veterinarian in a companion animal practice
  • At least 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Ability to travel overnight as required - often up to 75%
