Job description

Travel RN – PCU | Tucson, AZ

PCU RNs — this is an opportunity to work at one of Arizona’s highest-acuity hospital environments while getting exposure to a wide range of adult patient populations.

Supporting a major Level I Trauma Center and its sister campus in Tucson. If you enjoy variety, adapting quickly, and using your PCU skills across different units, this assignment gives you significantly more clinical exposure than a traditional single-unit contract.

What Makes This Assignment Stand Out
  • Level I Trauma experience: Work within a 600+ bed hospital caring for high-acuity adult patients.

  • Wide clinical exposure: Float across Observation, PCU/IMC, and other adult-health units based on hospital needs.

  • Two-campus experience: Support both the main Tucson campus and the nearby South campus.

  • High-acuity environment: Opportunity to care for patients ranging from Observation through intermediate-care levels.

  • Great fit for experienced travelers: Previous travel nursing experience is required.

  • 36 hours/week: Consistent full-time travel schedule.

  • 13-week assignment: September 28 – December 26, 2026.

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM.

  • Tucson winter: Enjoy warm desert weather, hiking, mountain biking, and outdoor activities while much of the country heads into winter.

The Opportunity

This isn't a typical PCU assignment where you're locked into the same unit for 13 weeks. You'll join a highly skilled Resource Float team and help support multiple adult-health areas across two campuses.

For nurses who enjoy variety and want to strengthen their experience in a major trauma-center environment, this can be a strong addition to a travel nursing resume.

Requirements

  • PCU/IMC experience

  • Previous travel nursing experience

  • Comfortable floating across multiple adult-health units

  • Navy scrubs required
