Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of Level 1 trauma OR experience and a Maine or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in a 26-bed hospital Operating Room department
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Uses Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot equipment
  • Epic EMR used
  • Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
  • 1:4 weekend rotation with 12-hour shifts
  • One overnight on-call shift required (11 PM-7 AM) for Trauma call
  • Specialty team members (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho) follow call rules specific to their team
  • Float policy applies within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required
  • BLS and other applicable AHA certifications required, with AHA certification completed prior to start if submitted as non-AHA equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of Level 1 trauma OR experience required
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Preferred specialty experience includes General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma, Ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required
Additional Information
  • Provide surgical nursing care across a variety of OR specialties
  • Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital
  • Candidates must be flexible, accountable, timely, and strong team players
  • Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
  • Local travelers residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract at the manager's discretion
