Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring an NM or compact RN license and cardiac monitoring skills.

Details
  • >and setpital environment operating at over 100% capacity within a Level I Trauma, teaching, and children's hospital
  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for lower acuity, med surg-like patient populations
  • Patient ratios of 1:5, with possible 1:6
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • 36 or 48 hour contracts available
  • Floating required to other MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity units within skillset, including the ED with 1:5 ratios
  • Weekend requirement of 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, which may vary by unit
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
  • active RN)license (New Mexico or compact) required, pending license accepted at submission
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • RQI certifications not accepted
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Non-local candidates only, must reside outside a 100-mile radius with valid non-local driver's license on file
Additional Information
  • Providet direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and IV therapy
  • Must work 2 of the 3 designated holiday bundles: Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
  • COVID vaccine is optional, but proof of vaccination series or declination must be submitted
  • Black scrubs required, not provided by facility
  • No parking fees
  • RTO requests exceeding 10 days require additional approval
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments, whichever comes first
  • Former staff must have 12 months of separation before returning
