American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry and IV skills, with a compact or NM RN license required.

Details
  • Med/Surg Tele unit in an acute care, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • 36 or 48-hour contracts available
  • Patient ratio of 1:5, possibly up to 1:6
  • Floating required to other Med/Surg Tele, PCU, and lower acuity units within skillset, including the ED (1:5 ratio)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekend requirement of 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, may vary by unit
  • Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
  • Active RN license, compact or New Mexico (NM) license required; NM license may pend at time of submission
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
  • Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Willingness to work relief charge as needed for contracts signed after 7/2/2026
Additional Information
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • COVID vaccine is optional; facility requires reporting of vaccine status or declination
  • Facility may call off scheduled shifts up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
  • RTO requests greater than 10 days require approval
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility with a non-local driver's license on file
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Black scrubs required, not provided by facility
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Facility operates at over 100% capacity
  • New contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
  • A 6-month system break is required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments, whichever comes first
  • Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning
