Job description

Echo Global Logistics is a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation management services. As a third-party logistics provider, we simplify transportation management for our clients and carriers, handling crucial tasks so they can focus on what they do best. From coast to coast, dock to dock, and across all major transportation modes, Echo connects businesses that need to ship their products with carriers who transport goods quickly, securely, and cost-effectively.

Position Overview:

Responsible for management of the selling and procuring of capacity, maintaining contractual sourcing contact list and contractual relationships. Will leverage internal and external relationships to procure capacity and partner with carrier sales representatives (relationships) to understand the carrier relationships. This position will be the main business development contact for carrier sales reps to collaborate on long term sales contacts.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and selling for carrier capacity from long term or sales contact specifically

  • Turn carrier contacts into data capacity, collect the long term capacity, premium capacity, maintain list and contacts

  • Responsible for internal relationships with carrier sales reps-Own and manage larger team contacts to find sales contacts for matching

  • Collaborating with TL solutions team and participating on live bids to match capacity

  • Negotiate with sales contacts on long term contracts when appropriate

  • Responsible for carrier facing communication for internal Echo bids- when awards are won, awarding carriers with capacity

  • Interacts with client team upon securing large volume awards to obtain contractual coverage via carrier-facing sourcing events

  • Vetting and review of proposal submissions with internal/external stake holders

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • 2-3 years relevant industry experience and TL knowledge

  • 1-2 years experience at Echo

  • Ability to navigate Echo's proprietary systems

  • Demonstrated experience selling within the industry

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Experience using MS Power Point, Excel, Word, & Tableau.

  • Carrier and Customer facing experience

  • Analytical and reporting experience a plus

  • Self-managed and motivated

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Ability for periodic business travel

Work environment/physical demands summary:

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other

office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of

that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
