Structural Engineer – Critical Structures & Seismic Design

Location: Columbia, Maryland

Level: Mid-Senior


Join a specialist engineering team delivering structurally resilient solutions for critical, high‑performance environments. This role offers hands‑on exposure to seismic design and safety‑critical structures where reliability, robustness, and compliance are essential.


What you’ll do:

  • Analyse and design structural systems for critical infrastructure with a strong focus on seismic performance
  • Produce structural calculations and reports
  • Develop and assess structural models using tools such as SCIA, Tekla Structures, or IDEA StatiCa
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on technically demanding projects
  • Support site inspections, design reviews, and structural assessments of existing assets


What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in structural engineering
  • Exposure to or strong interest in seismic design and dynamic loading
  • Detail‑focused, safety‑driven, and comfortable working on critical structures
