Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Associates Degree preferred/Highly qualified status
  2. Ability to contribute to the more effective use of the professional teacher's time by providing assistance in a wide variety of non-instructional assignments under the direction of teachers and school principal.
  3. Ability to interact with students in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity.
  4. Act 126 completion
  5. Act 71 completion
  6. Act 34 Clearance (self-paid), Act 151 Clearance (self-paid), FBI Clearance (self-paid)
  7. Drug Screening (self-paid)
  8. Letter of Interest, Resume and application through District website

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Record classroom attendance and follow up on absence notes as needed.
  • Correct and grade non-essay type tests using answer keys prepared by teachers as needed.
  • Assist pupils with assignments.
  • Prepare bulletin board materials and classroom displays./
  • Accompany pupils on field trips.
  • Keep desks and tabletops in clean orderly condition.
  • Conduct programmed lessons as directed, i.e. computer generated and or scripted.
  • Assist teachers in the supervision of classroom.
  • Operate office equipment that may include but not limited to the following: computer, calculator, FAX machine, e-mail, and printer.
  • Assist teacher in monitoring students in less structured environments.
  • Participate in a wide variety of duties that include, but are not limited to the following: assist in the library, office and cafeteria as needed; read or tell stories, distribute and collect materials, collect money, obtain food or juice from cafeteria, etc. The duties will vary depending on the location of assignment.
  • Notify teacher in advance of planned absence.
  • Adhere to the contractual school schedule (arrival, dismissal, etc.)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal or his/her designee.
