Job Overview

This role is not remote; candidates must be able to work onsite 5 days a week. It supports a site that is not yet announced.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute campus operational budgets, expense forecasting, and manage established budgets.
  • Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal teams on uptime, efficiencies, and cost.
  • Manage technical teams in charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.
  • Lead efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and ensure effective response to any excursions.
  • Own development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and drive site-level development of programs and initiatives.
  • Perform compliance activities for a data center, analyze results globally, ensuring teams comply with project/schedule guidelines and design standards.
  • Ensure all sites follow facility, maintenance, and standard programs while promoting continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in mission‑critical systems operations (power generation, data center, refinery, chip fabrication, chemical processing, or other high‑consequence environments).
  • Experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
  • Excellent people‑management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • At least 8 years of experience planning and executing campus operational budgets.
  • At least 5 years of experience meeting SLAs with internal teams on uptime, efficiencies, and cost.
  • Experience managing technical teams in charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure.
About the Data Center Team

The Data Center team designs and operates sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems. Facility Technicians operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions. Duties include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems, inspections, maintenance, and repairs of system components.

As a Data Center Facility Manager, you will lead and grow a large team in 24x7 data center operations, manage the life cycle of computing, network, and storage infrastructure, and design strategies to reduce operating costs while improving overall efficiency.

Compensation

US: $138,000 – $201,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.
