The Office of Quality and Innovation (OQI)servesas the catalyst for ensuringhigh levelsof performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. Requirements: 

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for adult learners in the workforce.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• One (1) or more years of experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint creating presentations.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in instructional technology and multimedia development tools, including Articulate, Well Said Labs, Vyond, CANVA, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• M.S. in instructional design, curriculum development 

• 3 or more years of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for a workforce
• One (1) year of experience of working with Learning Management Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To: 

• Serving as an instructional designer on the CurriculumDevelopmentTeam(CDT). 

• Using instructional design methodologies to develop and/or evaluate various workforce learning resources such asrequired trainings, training programs, and specialty courses based on the analysis ofDepartmentneeds. 

• Ensuring training meets508accessibility, usability, and functionality standards for classroom, online, self-study, and blended learning opportunities. 

• Piloting new trainings whenappropriate toensure necessary changes and revisions are made before implementation. 

• Assistingprogram offices in the planning and development of pilot learning programs, evaluatingresults, and usingthe findings toestablishnew or modified learning programs. 

• Participating in orfacilitatingcurriculum review committees with other program training managers or coordinators, to collaborate about the needs of training across program areas and the Department. 

• Assisting team members responsible for working with program office training managers to collect materials and coordinate a revision calendar to schedule when curriculum needs to be updated. 

• Reviewinghistorical training todetermineif training willbenefitfrom eLearning technology resources. 

• Workingwith the Quality Assurance Specialist to update a training resource library with trainingscollected from program offices and hospitals statewide. 

• SupportingtheLMS teamtomaintainand update courses available through theDepartment's LearningManagementSystem- My FL Learn. 

• Creating training for statewide implementation and setting expectations for which parts of the curriculum must be covered statewide. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Experience in developing training for adult learners using instructional design methodologies that meet quality industry standards. 

• Demonstrated knowledgeof 508 compliance and accessibility standards (ex: WCAG). 

• Consistentlydemonstratea high levelof professionalism using excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of leadership, management, and staff. 

• Experience with adult learning theory. 

• Proficiencyin Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (Office Suite)and Microsoft Teams. 

• Excellent skills with Articulate Storyline and design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, etc. 

• Capable of working with a high degree of independence,determiningwork priorities, and ensuring proper completion of work assignments. 

• Exceptional critical thinking skills. 

• Strong interpersonal skills that include the ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with others, teach, coach and mentor workforce. 

• Passion for learning and improving training programs and learning management system processes. 

• Knowledge of mission and vision of the Department of Children and Families. 

• Understanding of continuous quality improvement processes and integration across programs. 

• Ability to fact-find,identifytrends, root causes, and effective practices from data. 

• Proficient in systems-thinking across operational locations,departmentprograms, and government agencies.
