POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diversified Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant - Analyst who is self-motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, and results-oriented. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate reconciliation and actualization of production and transportation volumes and related financial settlements across Diversified's marketing, gathering, transportation, and accounting systems.
This position plays a critical role in the monthly close process through the reconciliation of pipeline statements, counterparty settlements, transportation invoices, accruals, and revenue-related reporting. The Senior Analyst will independently investigate and resolve volumetric discrepancies, support cross-functional business processes, and help drive operational efficiencies through data analysis and process improvement.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a collaborative approach to working with Accounting, Marketing, Revenue, Energy Services, and third-party counterparties.
Key Reponsibilites:
  • Reconcile pipeline statements, counterparty settlements, and transportation invoices to ensure complete and accurate volume actualization.
  • Analyze and resolve volumetric discrepancies and unaccounted-for volumes across gathering, transportation, and marketing systems.
  • Perform monthly volume uploads and validation activities within Diversified's marketing and actualization systems.
  • Prepare distribution reports for the Revenue Accounting team and partner with Energy Services to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly accrual reports supporting the financial close process.
  • Prepare expected cash receivable reporting and supporting analyses.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable aging reports in conjunction with the Revenue Accounting team.
  • Analyze pipeline, gathering, processing, and transportation charges against contractual expectations.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Marketing, Operations, and Energy Services teams to investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies.
  • Verify invoices received from third parties and maintain effective counterparty relationships.
  • Assist with system enhancement initiatives, process improvement efforts, testing activities, and special projects.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Energy Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, revenue accounting, energy operations, commodities marketing, actualization, logistics, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience reconciling complex datasets and identifying discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and with external business partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and business concepts quickly.

Preferred:
  • Experience in the natural gas, oil and gas, energy, utilities, or midstream industries.
  • Experience with ETRM, gas accounting, production accounting, midstream management, or commodity management systems.
  • Revenue Accounting experience.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or system implementations.
  • Project management or process improvement experience.
  • Experience utilizing Power BI, SQL, Power Query, or other reporting and analytics tools.

Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
