Bracebridge Capital, LLC is a leading alternative asset manager with approximately $12 billion of net assets under management. The firm pursues investment strategies primarily within the global fixed income markets with the objectives of capital preservation and absolute return without significant correlation to equity, interest rate and foreign exchange markets. Established in 1994, Bracebridge manages private investment funds that serve endowments, foundations, pension funds and other institutional and high-net-worth investors.

The Deputy General Counsel will handle a broad range of responsibilities relevant to our business including adviser regulatory matters, management company matters, investment transactions and structures, marketing activities, compliance oversight, and trading activities. The work encompasses transactional, contractual and litigation matters and requires solid drafting and confident negotiation skills. This position will work closely with trading, compliance, investor relations, tax, finance and operations personnel at senior levels within the firm. The right candidate enjoys a market-driven environment that is intellectually challenging and dynamic. The ideal candidate has familiarity with fixed income products, an understanding of trading markets, and an ability to prioritize and handle multiple time-sensitive assignments.
Primary Responsibilities may include from time to time:
  • Advising trading team on questions regarding trading activities and regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing and preparing marketing materials for funds managed by the firm and advising investor relations regarding marketing activities
  • Responsibility for portfolio investment transactions, particularly asset acquisitions, investments in structured transactions, and workouts
  • Following and providing analysis of relevant regulatory, litigation and market developments
  • Advising on structure and governance of the management company
  • Representing the firm in meetings and discussions with regulators, existing and prospective investors, and other third parties
  • Advising the compliance team and other relevant internal groups on compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Advising on employee matters, including employee policies and procedures, employment agreements and immigration matters

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree and at least 10 years' relevant work experience, with quality experience across a broad range of investment management-related legal work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player who combines interpersonal and communication skills along with keen analytical capabilities
  • Excellent work ethic that demonstrates initiative, problem solving and continuous learning

Current anticipated annual base salary range: $325,000 - $375,000
Base salary within the range will be determined by various factors including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills and qualifications.
