Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in New Bedford, MA who is currently seeking a General School RN to work with students on a contractual basis.

Details of the Position Include:

Start Date: 09/07/2026

Duration: Full school year

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:25am-3:45pm

Requirements: RN Licensure / Schools Based Experience

Description: Seeking a qualified General School Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The student population includes individuals with medically complex needs and those requiring diabetes management. While the health office can experience periods of high activity, the nurse will work collaboratively alongside another RN to support student care and daily operations.

Pay: $52/ hour

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.  

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred 
  • School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
  • One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred  
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice  
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable  
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)  
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
