Job description

Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America's drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We're hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
Neros is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the technical execution of engineering deliverables supporting defense programs from development through production and sustainment. This role is responsible for translating contractual and customer technical requirements into actionable engineering work, driving cross-functional execution, and ensuring technical deliverables are completed in accordance with program objectives.
The Project Engineer serves as the focal point for engineering documentation, qualification activities, technical compliance, and contractual engineering deliverables while working closely with Program Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical execution of engineering requirements associated with customer contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Analyze customer technical requirements and develop implementation plans to satisfy contractual engineering obligations
  • Develop, manage, and deliver engineering documentation, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), compliance matrices, technical reports, and other contractual deliverables
  • Lead technical planning and execution for system verification, validation, qualification, production readiness, First Article and Lot Acceptance Testing (FAT/LAT)
  • Own engineering deliverables related to Requests for Variance (RFVs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), configuration management, technical deviations, and engineering documentation updates
  • Develop technical documentation supporting logistics, packaging, manufacturing, training, sustainment, and product support activities as required by contract
  • Facilitate cross-functional execution across Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations to ensure technical deliverables are completed on schedule
  • Track engineering action items, technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and contractual deliverables through completion
  • Facilitate technical reviews, engineering discussions, and design reviews while ensuring timely resolution of technical issues
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable contractual, regulatory, customer, and/or internal SOP's
  • Support customer technical meetings, design reviews, qualification events, audits, and technical interchange meetings as required
  • Ensure compliance to MIL-DTL/MIL-STD, etc.

You should have the following
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related and/or applicable engineering discipline
  • 3-8 years of engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, or technical project experience within aerospace, defense, robotics, unmanned systems, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts from development through production.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense/War contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), CDRLs, technical documentation, qualification testing, and engineering change processes.
  • Experience supporting product development, manufacturing, verification, validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Team Center or similar engineering and project management tools

Nice to have
  • Experience in aerospace or defense sectors
