Job description

Overview

Are you a strategic professional with a passion for driving project success? As Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will oversee critical activities that ensure project success, including prime contract management, scheduling, cost control and contract change management. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness for one division.

What you will be doing
  • Review and analyze contract management records to provide technical advice or project control guidance.
  • Assist with cost controls reporting and reconciliation of project cost reporting.
  • Assist scheduling process and support including bid phase and project schedule creation, monthly reporting and schedule updates
  • Assist with integration of systems to track, monitor and control costs or schedule.
  • Ensure accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
  • Perform regular project reviews and monitors the job cost report against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with Division Claims/Contract Manager in tracking and monitoring change order and claims preparation and resolution
  • Track activities around unsecured revenue and project contingencies.
  • Track of over/under billing to monitor and control project cash flow.
  • Assist with resource and cost loading to the schedule, including labor projections, equipment and material projections, and productivity trend reporting to accurately forecast project costs and project financial outcome.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.
  • Proven expertise in cost control, scheduling and change management.
  • Developing negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting.
  • Able to identify cost reduction strategies in schedule, quantities or contract specifications that align with project budget and design specification requirements.
  • Ability to conduct in-person and online project controls training to district personnel.
