Job Description

Position: Dual Language Instructional Leadership Team

Contract Period: 2026-2027 School Year (Approximately 12 hours outside of contractual time and 12 hours of release time)

Compensation: Hourly rate for extra duty and committee work as per CBA.

Reports to: Director of Assessment and English Learner Programming

Position Overview: To support and facilitate the continued development of the district’s dual language program by informing curricular, instructional and assessment determinations across the program’s implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and textbooks.
  • Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
  • Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators, administrators, parents, students, and the general public.
  • Experience providing instruction in biliteracy settings, including the implementation of dual language program components.
  • Familiarity with research on effective educational programming for multilingual learners.

Duties:

  • Attend all Dual Language Instructional Leadership Meetings as required.
  • Actively engage in work related to the committee’s work in and outside of committee meetings.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the district’s dual language implementation plan.
  • Conduct work related to the committee’s purpose both during and outside of committee meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned by the committee chair.
