Job description

The Vice President - Construction will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a growing construction organization, driving project performance, team development, client satisfaction, and business growth. Reporting to executive leadership, this role will oversee all aspects of construction operations while supporting business development, preconstruction, project execution, and long-term market expansion.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience within commercial construction, a strong understanding of project delivery and operational management, and a proven ability to build high-performing teams. This individual will play a key role in strengthening client relationships, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring successful project outcomes across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for construction operations, preconstruction, project delivery, and business development activities
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing strategies that improve project performance, profitability, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Lead and develop construction teams through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management
  • Serve as a key leader within the regional market, fostering a collaborative culture and supporting organizational growth initiatives
  • Oversee project portfolios to ensure successful execution from planning through completion

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the commercial construction industry
  • Proven success leading large construction teams and overseeing complex project portfolios
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and project execution
  • Experience within design-build, negotiated, or alternative project delivery environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and commercial decision-making
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing operational budgets and project performance metrics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams through engaged leadership
