Job description

The Supplier Claims Auditor is responsible for performing independent audits of supplier cancellation claims to ensure that only contractually obligated and substantiated costs are paid, driving measurable cost avoidance for Stellantis.
This role will interact extensively with suppliers, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management to evaluate and resolve disputed claims. The Auditor will perform substantive testing of supplier claims, obtain and assess sufficient evidence to support payment recommendations, document results and findings, and clearly communicate conclusions to appropriate stakeholders and management.
The position includes on-site verification of supplier inventories, production tooling, raw materials, and other assets included in cancellation claims. The Auditor will assess claims within the context of engineering program governance, tooling approval trails, supply chain compliance requirements, and commercial pricing mechanisms to ensure claims align with contractual terms, approved program decisions, and internal controls.
This individual will also coordinate audit efforts with dealer field auditors, Corporate Leadership Development (CLD) program participants, and other cross-functional audit and operational teams, and prepare clear, concise management reporting to support leadership decision-making.
Travel requirement: up to 30%, primarily within the Midwest.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform end-to-end audits of supplier cancellation claims, including planning, execution, documentation, and reporting
  • Substantively test supplier-provided data and supporting documentation to validate claimed costs
  • Conduct on-site verification of inventories, production tooling, and other claimed assets
  • Evaluate claims against engineering program governance decisions, approved program scope, and tooling approval and release trails
  • Assess supplier compliance with supply chain, commercial, and contractual requirements
  • Analyze claims considering commercial pricing mechanisms, including piece price, tooling amortization, and cost recovery structures
  • Leverage data analytics and AI-enabled tools to identify anomalies, trends, and risk indicators within supplier claims data
  • Clearly communicate audit findings and recommendations to Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Audit leadership
  • Coordinate audit activities across internal and external stakeholders to support volume, complexity, and timeliness
  • Support continuous improvement of supplier claims audit methodologies, including increased use of analytics and automation

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Supply Chain
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, such as:
  • Finance or Accounting
  • Purchasing or Supply Chain
  • Tool Valuation or Manufacturing / Product Engineering
  • Cost, System, or Commercial Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical and commercial topics clearly
  • Experience working with engineering programs, tooling lifecycle management, or program launch / cancellation activities
  • Understanding of automotive commercial pricing models and supplier cost structures
  • Experience using data analytics, automation, or AI-based tools to support audit, financial analysis, or risk identification
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable financial impact through audit or validation activities
