About Your Role


QA Mechanical Inspector to support quality assurance oversight on large capital infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for reviewing contractor quality control programs, conducting QA audits, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting field teams through technical guidance and oversight.


Education Requirements


High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.


What You'll Need to Get the Job Done


  • Minimum of ten (10) years of mechanical construction inspection or quality assurance experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience inspecting mechanical systems on commercial airports, large transportation facilities, hospitals, higher education, or other complex commercial facilities.
  • Experience serving as an Owner's Representative, Construction Manager, Program Management Consultant, or Quality Assurance Inspector.
  • Experience with projects exceeding $25 million in construction value is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project

Ability to quickly learn new systems such as SharePoint
Experience using Bluebeam PDF software
Strong organizational, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills

State-Level Fire Inspector Certification
Standard Mechanical Inspector Certification
Standard Plumbing Inspector Certification
NICET Certification for Fire Protection Systems

What You'll Do


Report directly to the Lead QA Manager and provide QA oversight across multiple projects
Review Design Builder (DB) QC programs, test plans, and inspection procedures
Review critical submittals and shop drawings and provide feedback
Interpret contract documents and ensure compliance across all QA/QC processes
Monitor BIM 360 workflows for issue tracking, checklists, and reporting
Conduct unannounced QA audits of contractor QC implementation and documentation
Review testing and inspection reports and identify deficiencies
Issue noncompliance reports and verify corrective actions and closeout
Document QA/QC lessons learned and share best practices across projects
Conduct QA/QC coordination meetings with contractors and field teams
Track and report QA metrics, activities, and KPIs for monthly reporting
Provide technical guidance and coaching to field staff
Participate in OAC meetings, QA/QC meetings, pre-installation meetings, and inspections
Maintain clear and professional communication with all stakeholders
Work extended hours or weekends as required by project schedules
