Job Description
Hirani Engineering & Land Surveying is seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) to support Design-Build projects by ensuring all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
This role requires a hands-on, onsite presence and strong familiarity with public agency standards. The ideal candidate brings experience working on NYCHA or similar public housing projects, with the ability to navigate documentation, compliance, and stakeholder coordination effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FIELD QUALITY OVERSIGHT
  • Monitor onsite construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and approved submittals
  • Verify workmanship and adherence to project requirements
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate timely corrective actions

MATERIAL & ACTIVITY VERIFICATION
  • Witness material deliveries and confirm alignment with approved submittals
  • Observe onsite testing activities (excluding special inspections)
  • Ensure materials and installations meet project standards

DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING
  • Prepare detailed daily reports, including:
  • Date, time, and inspector name
  • Locations of observed activities
  • Subcontractors onsite
  • Timestamped photos
  • Observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation

DEFICIENCY TRACKING & CLOSEOUT
  • Track and update QC Deficiency Logs
  • Follow through on open items to ensure proper resolution
  • Assist with punch list coordination and project closeout

COORDINATION
  • Collaborate with Quality Manager, Design-Builder, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Coordinate with agencies such as NYCHA, other oversight entities
  • Support compliance with all agencies and contract requirements

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in construction quality control or inspection
  • NYCHA experience strongly preferred (or comparable public housing/public agency project experience)
  • Experience on public sector projects (City, Municipal, or Federal) required
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field practices
  • Ability to identify non-conforming work and enforce quality standards
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management systems preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills

SALARY: $60 - $70 PER HOUR
