The Role

This isn't a traditional club management position. The Assistant General Manager will work cross-functionally with club leadership, operations, hospitality, events, membership sales, and on-site staff to ensure a seamless, elevated, and consistently memorable club environment. The right candidate is as comfortable engaging a high-net-worth member on the floor as they are building an SOP from scratch or launching a new programming initiative.This role is built for someone who wants to grow into broader operational leadership—potentially General Manager—over time.


Job Qualifications

  • 7–15+ years of leadership experience in private clubs, luxury hospitality, or high-end experiential businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams across multiple operational functions
  • Experience working directly with high-net-worth individuals, executives, and discerning clientele—this role is highly relational and requires genuine executive presence and the ability to communicate at the highest levels
  • Strong background in membership-based or lifestyle-driven organizations
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional member and guest experiences
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a strong bias toward action and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment without waiting for perfect structure
  • Performance management experience—able to establish accountability, coach team members, and elevate standards
  • Entrepreneurial thinker who balances strategic vision with hands-on execution


Job Responsibilities

As the Assistant General Manager, you will:Club Operations & Experience

  • Oversee daily club operations including clubhouse and hospitality services, member services, front-of-house staff, and concierge services
  • Ensure the club environment consistently reflects the club's premium brand standards and member-first culture
  • Help define and implement an activity-based staffing model that balances exceptional service with operational efficiency
  • Oversee accurate member billing, statement distribution, and payment processing
  • Serve as a primary on-site leader and host—building strong, lasting relationships with members and their guests
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, SOPs, workflows, and the overall member experienceTeam Leadership
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable all on-site operational teams
  • Establish clear service standards, expectations, and a culture of performance
  • Recruit, train, and retain high-quality staff across multiple operational areas
  • Promote a positive, professional, hospitality-driven team environment rooted in coaching and mentorshipEvents & Programming
  • Oversee execution of club events and member programming
  • Ensure all events are well-organized, engaging, and reflective of the club's brand
  • Identify opportunities to expand event offerings—corporate events, brand activations, partnerships, private rentals
  • Collaborate on pricing, packaging, and contracting to align with club standards and financial objectives
  • Apply a "what more can we deliver" approach to every member and event touchpointMembership Sales & Engagement
  • Assist in prospective member tours and support onboarding of new members into the club community
  • Communicate the value, culture, and long-term vision of the club to prospective members and VIP guests
  • Develop high-touch SOPs to increase member usage, engagement, and long-term retentionStandards & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain and elevate service standards across all areas of the club
  • Ensure consistent execution while adapting to a growing, evolving club platform
