Job description

Tetra Tech needs an Electrical Engineer for construction of a Power Plant Remediation Project (PPRP) with State Dept. Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, IraqRequires a US Govt. Secret Security Clearance.
 

The Project

The PPRP is designed to address critical operational inefficiencies that have been identified within the facility's power generation rooms. These inefficiencies include insufficient airflow, which compromises the cooling and ventilation systems, and excessive heat buildup, which poses risks to equipment performance, operational reliability, and overall safety. By implementing targeted engineering solutions, the PPRP aims to optimize air circulation, reduce thermal stress on machinery, and enhance the overall efficiency and sustainability of the power plant. This project will not only improve the facility's operational capacity but also extend the lifespan of critical equipment and ensure compliance with industry standards for safety and environmental performance.  This is an active position, not a proposal.  

  • We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year and the project is expected to last 24-36 months.
  • Uplifts include Post Differential and Danger Pay.

Position Description

You will:

  • Provide NEC project with full range of critical engineering, construction quality assurance, technical oversight.
  • Perform technical inspections of mechanical work, monitor construction contractor's quality control program, and review project drawings to ensure compliance.
  • Observe onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
  • Monitor construction progress with regard to project schedule and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on technical review of project documents and field inspections.

Requirements

  • US Govt. Secret Clearance or higher
  • US Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Current US PE license can substitute for degree
  • 7 years construction experience
  • ABET accredited international degree accepted in lieu of US Bachelor's or US PE
