Position Description
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Carpenter Apprentice to join our Facilities team in September 2026. In this role, you will assist with carpentry and maintenance tasks that support the upkeep and repair of Laboratory facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in carpentry and construction. After at least four years in the role, the Carpenter Apprentice may be eligible for promotion to Carpenter.
Position Responsibilities
• Constructs, modifies, and maintains buildings and structures from written and verbal instructions.
• Works with wood, wood products, plastics, and other materials common to the construction industry.
• Uses hand, portable, and fixed tools common to the construction and cabinetmaking industries.
• Performs other tasks and duties as directed by the Carpentry and Paint Manager
Position Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required-training will be provided.
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively under supervision.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with Carpenters and team members.
• Supervision & Work Environment:
• Works under direct supervision.
• Communicates primarily with Carpenters; no external interaction or supervisory duties.
