Job description

Journeyman Electrician & Experienced Electrical Apprentice

Falcon Electric, Inc. is seeking dependable, skilled electricians to join our growing team. We work primarily on high-quality residential construction, remodeling, service upgrades, lighting systems, and custom electrical installations throughout Chicago’s North Shore.

We are currently hiring:

  • Journeyman Electrician with strong residential electrical experience
  • Electrical Apprentice with at least two years of hands-on residential experience

Both positions require practical experience installing EMT and other conduit systems. Applicants without conduit experience will not be considered.

Journeyman Electrician Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and current NEC requirements
  • Ability to work independently and lead apprentices when required
  • Experience with new construction, remodeling, service work, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in bending and installing EMT conduit
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical plans, specifications, and schematics
  • Experience installing electrical panels, branch circuits, lighting, switches, receptacles, and dedicated equipment circuits
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan work, identify required materials, and complete installations efficiently
  • Professional communication skills and attention to detail

Electrical Apprentice Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of residential electrical experience
  • Working knowledge of EMT conduit installation and bending
  • Familiarity with electrical tools, materials, devices, and basic testing equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with Journeyman Electricians
  • Strong desire to learn, improve, and advance within the electrical trade
  • Dependable, organized, and willing to take responsibility for assigned work

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NEC and local code requirements
  • Install and bend EMT conduit as a regular part of daily work
  • Perform electrical work for new construction, renovations, additions, and service projects
  • Install panels, circuits, lighting fixtures, controls, switches, receptacles, and electrical equipment
  • Use hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and ohmmeters safely and correctly
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical plans, and schematics
  • Identify electrical problems and recommend effective solutions
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, homeowners, and other team members
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Complete assigned work accurately and within the expected schedule
  • Follow company procedures and all applicable safety requirements
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and trade skills
