Job description

B&F Contracting is looking for a Project Manager to oversee underground wet utility projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain construction, for both municipal and commercial in southern Arizona. Our PMs lead with Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability, and Safety, ensuring that projects are built the right way - safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. This role is primarily focused on construction-phase management, with responsibility for coordinating crews, managing subcontractors, controlling costs, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.


Essential Functions

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, subcontract agreements, and pay applications.
  • Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and address issues as they arise.
  • Monitor and control field costs, manpower, equipment, and materials to keep projects on track.
  • Provide accurate project forecasts, cost-to-complete reports, and closeout documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract requirements, drawings, and specifications.
  • Work closely with superintendents and foremen to coordinate daily activities, resolve issues, and maintain productivity.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Division Manager and leadership team, reporting on progress, challenges, and performance.
  • Drive and enforce B&F's Safety program across all project sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and vendors, representing B&F with professionalism and integrity.

  • Work closely with Project Engineers (PEs) to review their work, provide guidance, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively across Assistant PMs, PEs, and field staff to maximize efficiency and support development.
  • Promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration across crews, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Anticipate challenges and resolve them quickly to minimize impacts on cost, schedule, or quality.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, supporting their growth into future leaders.
  • Contribute to B&F's reputation for delivering quality work by ensuring projects meet or exceed client expectations.
