Lake Country Dairy is an award winning Hard Italian Cheese manufacturing plant. We are proud to be a part of Wisconsin’s strong tradition of cheese making and our goal is to make the best cheese in the world!   

We are now hiring a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations to ensure optimal equipment reliability, facility functionality, and compliance with safety standards. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians, implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the maintenance team, driving high performance, accountability and standards of work
  • Ensure timely repair of equipment and completion of work orders, instilling a strong sense of urgency and drive to determine and resolve root cause
  • Continuously strive to minimize downtime and improve reliability of critical production operations
  • Manage contract work and workers, ensuring work is completed to required workmanship, standards, timelines, and cost.
  • Responsible for planning aspects related to maintenance projects (bids, quotes, blueprints, schedules, etc.)
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to coordinate and execute maintenance projects
  • Oversee the development, scheduling, and control of the plant preventative maintenance program to maintain production equipment in proper working condition and ensure that equipment is ready to run when scheduled
  • Manage the supply of parts and tools, ensuring supply on hand and ordering when needed
  • Adhere to all GMP and safety policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
  • Ensure that all equipment and facility installations and or modifications meet or exceed all regulatory agency (i.e., SQF, USDA, OSHA, EPA) standards and comply with all company policies and or procedures
  • Keep and update equipment and facility records and procedures such as equipment manuals, schematic drawings, and facility drawings
  • Responsible for grounds maintenance, including coordination of lawn care and snow removal
  • Responsible for upkeep and utilization of the enterprise maintenance manager program (ManagerPlus)
  • Able to respond to needs of a 24/7 plant with on call availability
  • Travel required on occasion for new equipment evaluation, selection and commissioning
  • 10 years maintenance experience in a dairy or food manufacturing plant, management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience maintaining manufacturing equipment such as motors, pumps, pneumatics, wiring, welding, advanced mechanics, wastewater controls, PLC, HVAC and high-pressure steam systems
  • Experiencing in handling maintenance related projects and working with contracted services
  • Safety minded
  • Service oriented with a high sense of urgency
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively plan and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong follow up and follow through skills
  • Basic – intermediate computer skills required
