RN - Psychiatric | San Jose, CA | $2,908/Week

Now Hiring: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: San Jose, CA
Start Date: September 6, 2026
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Pay: Up to $2,908/Week

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a 16-week assignment with Community Solutions, a respected nonprofit behavioral health and social services organization serving Santa Clara County.

Community Solutions provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adults, and families facing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, trauma, and crisis situations. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an underserved community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric nursing care and assessments
  • Support clients with behavioral health and mental health needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams
  • Monitor patient progress and response to treatment
  • Assist with crisis intervention and care coordination
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Requirements
  • Active California RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RN experience
  • Strong communication and patient advocacy skills
Assignment Details
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • No weekends required
  • 40 hours per week
  • 16-week contract
  • Virtual interview with the onsite manager
  • Timekeeping through MaxView

The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.  The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care.  The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
