Job description

RF Analysis Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

Do you enjoy contributing to a technical team, while closely working with stakeholders to produce technical outputs that demonstrate the optimal path forward for a customer? This is the role of our Radio Frequency (RF) Analysis Engineer working to support the customer each day, performing RF Analyses to protect their operations around the globe. Through this role, you will get the opportunity to help ensure spectrum access to support the DoW's mission at home and abroad.

The RF Analysis Engineer provides technical support to the DoW Electromagnetic Spectrum Enterprise Policy and Programs (EMSEPP) office in the areas of spectrum management, electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), 5G and FutureG technologies, and spectrum policy. Support government meetings, technical working groups, and stakeholder engagements by preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials to share technical analyses. Coordinate with DoW organizations, federal agencies, industry partners, and standards bodies to assess emerging technologies, spectrum-sharing initiatives, regulatory developments, and spectrum access strategies. Deliver subject matter expertise and technical recommendations to support DoW spectrum modernization and electromagnetic spectrum superiority objectives.

As an RF Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for everything from validating input data, devising an analysis methodology, and ensuring the quality of technical outputs to concisely and clearly convey results. You will also support the Lead engineer in representing the DoW's interests in technical working groups with your peers.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering

  • 2+ years of experience conducting Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) analyses for federal spectrum-dependent systems

  • Knowledge of federal spectrum management

  • Knowledge of Wireless communications systems

  • Knowledge of federal spectrum-dependent mission systems such as radionavigation and communications

  • Knowledge of 4G and 5G RAN technologies, including the RF interfaces

  • Ability to mentor the technical execution of junior engineers, including performing quality assurance

  • Ability to clearly present technical topics in high-pressure situations, such as technical committees of peers and produce professional documentation

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with ITU standardization (ITU-T), radiocommunication (ITU-R) sectors, and WRC processes

  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, or programming languages suitable to augment or enhance COTS RF simulation capabilities

  • Experience utilizing tools such as Systems Tool Kit (STK), Visualyse Professional, EDX Signal Pro, or iQLink

  • Knowledge of International Telecommunications Union (ITU)

  • Knowledge of RF protocols and propagation models

  • Knowledge of NTIA and FCC processes as they relate to DoW spectrum policy and strategy, including the NTIA Redbook Table of Allocations and associated regulatory framework

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, Technology, or Mathematics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
