Job Title: Senior SAP EWM Functional Consultant / Architect

Location: St. Louis, MO (4 Days/Week Onsite – Travel & Expenses Covered)

Engagement Type: Long-Term Contract (C2C / 1099)

Duration: 12+ Months (Multi-Year Extendable)

Role Overview Peningo Systems is seeking an elite, senior-level SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Consultant / Architect to lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and deployment of an advanced automated warehouse solution for a premier client in St. Louis, MO. This role requires a proven technical and functional expert capable of driving complex SAP EWM implementations in a fully validated, regulated environment. You will be responsible for leading warehouse automation integration (MFS, ASRS, AGVs, AMRs, conveyors), interfacing EWM with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and architecting robust inbound, outbound, and internal shop-floor inventory workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • EWM Solution Design & Configuration: Lead full-lifecycle SAP EWM configuration across storage/layout-oriented storage control (POSC/LOSC), Post Processing Framework (PPF), Wave Management, Value-Added Services (VAS), Quality Inspection Engine (QIE), and Yard/Labor Management.

  • Warehouse Automation & Robotics Integration: Design and execute standard/custom integration between SAP EWM/MFS and automated material handling hardware, including Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and conveyor systems.

  • Shop Floor & MES Integration: Drive seamless integration between SAP EWM, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and S/4HANA/ECC core modules (PP, MM, QM, SD, FI/CO) for staging, production supply, kitting, and backflush reconciliation.

  • RF & Mobile Enablement: Architect, configure, and troubleshoot RF transactions, barcode/RFID scanning, Handling Unit (HU) management, and digital warehouse workflows.

  • Stakeholder Leadership: Facilitate Conference Room Pilots (CRPs), business process workshops, and gap analysis sessions with client engineering, operations, and IT executive teams.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Core Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Warehouse Management (WM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) full-lifecycle implementations.

  • Deep Automation Expertise: Proven track record configuring SAP EWM Material Flow System (MFS) and integrating with automated hardware.

  • Core Integration Knowledge: Solid configuration and interface knowledge spanning MM (Inventory Management, valuation), PP (shop floor integration), QM (quality inspection), and SD.

  • Testing & Delivery: Strong background with SIT/UAT execution, cutover planning, and post-go-live hypercare support.

Work Arrangement & Travel

  • Schedule: 4 days per week onsite at the client facility in St. Louis, MO (with 1 day remote).

  • Expenses: For traveling consultants, all round-trip flights, hotel accommodations, rental car/rideshare, and per diem expenses are fully reimbursed.
