Senior Software Engineers (2) + Lead Software Engineer (1) – Cloud / Full-Stack (Contract-to-Hire) - Hybrid on-site in Houston, TX (Spring, TX)
 

We are partnering with a leading organization undergoing a large-scale technology transformation focused on modernizing software delivery, improving system performance, and transitioning to a cloud-first architecture.

We are hiring two (2) Senior Software Engineers and one (1) Lead Software Engineer to support this initiative. These roles are ideal for engineers who can build systems from scratch, modernize existing applications, and contribute to scalable, service-based architectures within a product-driven environment.

What You’ll Do (All Roles)
  • Design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-based applications and services
  • Contribute to both greenfield development and modernization of existing systems
  • Help break down monolithic applications into microservices / modular architectures
  • Develop APIs, backend services, and system integrations
  • Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance
Lead Software Engineer – Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across engineering teams
  • Drive architecture decisions and best practices
  • Mentor and guide engineers (code quality, design thinking, delivery)
  • Partner with stakeholders to align engineering solutions with business goals
  • Help shape engineering standards and scalable delivery processes
  • Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and leadership teams
Required Qualifications (All Roles)
  • 5+ years (Senior) / 8+ years (Lead) of software engineering experience
  • Strong programming expertise in:
    • Java
      OR
    • .NET / C#
  • Hands-on cloud experience:
    • Azure preferred
    • AWS acceptable if able to transition to Azure
  • Experience building APIs and working within distributed / service-based systems
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Microservices architecture
    • RESTful services
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Cloud-native development principles
  • Experience working on both new builds and existing system enhancements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, AKS, etc.)
  • Application modernization experience (monolith ? microservices)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile / product-based teams
  • Strong system design and architectural thinking
