Job description

Job Title: Enterprise Solutions Architect – Pega, MuleSoft, Java
Location: Houston, TX or New Jersey (100% Onsite)
Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Enterprise Solutions Architect with strong expertise in Pega, MuleSoft, and Java/J2EE technologies. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing end-to-end enterprise solutions across platforms and applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and business alignment.

This is a key role driving digital transformation and integration strategies in a complex enterprise environment, working closely with stakeholders, business units, and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture design and implementation of enterprise solutions using Pega, MuleSoft, and Java technologies.
  • Define and establish architectural standards, integration patterns, and governance models.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive API-led connectivity strategy using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and ensure reusable, secure, and high-performing APIs.
  • Design and oversee BPM workflows and business rules using Pega PRPC and Pega case management.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance for Java-based backend systems, microservices, and integration layers.
  • Conduct design reviews, solution walkthroughs, and ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Ensure security, performance, compliance, and operational efficiency in solution designs.
  • Support project planning, estimation, and roadmap alignment across business and IT.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) or Senior System Architect (SSA) – Highly preferred
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer/Architect is a strong advantage.
  • 13-18+ years of overall experience in IT.
  • Must have 2-5+ Years of experience in enterprise application architecture and development.
  • Proven expertise in designing solutions using:
    • Pega PRPC (7.x/8.x) – Architecture, case lifecycle, integrations, data pages, activities.
    • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform – API design, RAML, DataWeave, CloudHub, Mule runtimes.
    • Java/J2EE – Spring Boot, RESTful services, multithreading, security, performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hybrid deployment models.
  • Solid experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in banking, insurance, healthcare, or manufacturing domains is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
