Job Description Position Summary Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Java Developer to modernize a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise Java application development and a proven track record of upgrading complex software infrastructures in secure, regulated environments. The role involves planning and executing upgrades across the technology stack, including Apache Solr with ZooKeeper, Apache Tomcat, Apache Directory Studio, and Java/Python components running on Windows-based VMware infrastructure. Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c database integration, SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks, secure coding practices, and upgrading and migrating Solr index data is essential. Experience with PrimeFaces UI framework is a plus. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless upgrades with minimal operational disruption. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Plan and execute technology stack upgrades for enterprise Java applications in secure government environments. * Develop and maintain Java/Python components on Windows-based VMware infrastructure. * Modernize legacy application code to current standards and best practices. * Implement secure coding practices in compliance with government security requirements. * Upgrade Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper coordination. * Migrate and optimize Solr index data during version upgrades. * Manage Apache Tomcat application server configurations and deployments. * Integrate applications with Oracle 19c database systems. * Work with Apache Directory Studio for directory services integration. * Support SAP Business Intelligence reporting framework integrations. * Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business stakeholder teams. * Ensure minimal operational disruption during system upgrades. * Document technical designs, upgrade procedures, and system configurations. * Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
