Job description

This position, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is responsible and accountable for all functions in the following areas:

• Financial systems - providing access and oversight support for FPI and the Physician Practices financial systems; to include 200+ users, 4 software applications and 40+ databases; ensuring proper system configuration and technical support; maintaining cost effective standardized processes and procedures to achieve FPI/PA business priorities. Developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with FPI Information Services Department

• Payroll and related tax services for FPI, Physician Practices (7) and other companies. Administration of payroll component of the Ultipro time keeping system; to include oversight of payroll processing and fiscal and year end processing of W-2’s, taxes, etc

• Accounts Payable services, including the administration of DocLink (paperless AP management system), for FPI, Physician Practices (11), MMCIP and the Department Development Fund.

• Purchasing, including the collaboration with and development of a strong working relationship with the UMMS purchasing department. Administration of vendor purchasing contracts through UHC/Novation (Group Purchasing Organization) for FPI and the Physician Practices.

• FPI/PA banking relationship with M&T Bank to include investments, group contract pricing for bank services, security authorization and the creation/maintenance of standardized policies and procedures. • Other analysis and participation in strategic priorities, as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • MBA, Masters or CPA
  • 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Management or supervisory previous experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, Visual Basic
  • Strong accounting software skills
  • Strong communication and written skills

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
