Job description

Role: Senior DeltaV engineer

Location: Houston, TX/ REMOTE

Type of hire: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior DeltaV Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation engineering, DeltaV configuration, commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting within regulated industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Chemicals, or Oil & Gas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV DCS systems.
  • Develop control modules, equipment modules, phases, recipes, and batch strategies.
  • Configure HMI graphics, alarms, historian, reports, and system security.
  • Perform system integration with PLCs, SCADA, MES, ERP, OPC, and third-party systems.
  • Prepare Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Design Specifications (DS), FAT/SAT protocols, IQ/OQ documentation, and validation reports.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Troubleshoot DeltaV hardware, software, networking, and process control issues.
  • Support DeltaV system upgrades, migrations, backups, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with process, instrumentation, electrical, validation, and production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, GAMP5, ISA-88, ISA-95, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements where applicable.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership throughout project execution.
  • Participate in project planning, effort estimation, and technical reviews.
