They are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications according to client requirements. These engineers are typically hired for specific projects or time periods and may work on various technologies depending on client needs. As a contract TCS Software Engineer, you will often work on specific projects with defined deliverables and timelines, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as QA, product managers, and other developers. While you are integrated into the team's workflow, your role may focus more on immediate project needs rather than long-term strategic planning. Communication and adaptability are important, as you may be expected to quickly familiarize yourself with existing systems and contribute to multiple projects. This structure allows you to gain diverse project experience and build a broad professional network within TCS, though you may have less involvement in company-wide initiatives compared to full-time staff.
