Job description

Job Overview

Fairview Range is seeking a CRCST or Central Supply Technician to join our Sterile Processing team in Hibbing, MN.  

The Central Supply Technician plays a crucial role in the flawless flow of operations by efficiently processing and distributing stock supplies and forms to all nursing departments. Moreover, this role involves the meticulous cleaning, decontamination, assembly, wrapping, and terminal sterilization of all reusable patient care equipment, instruments, and supplies. Applicants holding current CRCST certification through HSPA will be seamlessly transitioned into a CRCST position. For those seeking to join our team without prior certification, comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure success in this vital role!

Schedule: This position will work 40 to 71 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift/evening.

Weekends:  As Needed

As a Central Supply Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Supply Distribution; Distributing and maintaining appropriate supply levels on all patient care units.
  • Providing safe and effective transport of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation throughout the system. Keeping product covered during transport.
  • Transporting and Decontamination; Responsible for receiving, identifying, and decontaminating used surgical and patient care instrumentation and equipment.
  • Assembly, Sterilization and Storage; Processing reusable instrumentation, utensils, scopes and other reusable supplies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Willing and able to acquire CRCST certification within 1 year of hire. Upon successful completion employee automatically moves into CRCST position.
  • Solid understanding of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Prior experience Sterile Processing/Decontamination, Materials Management, or healthcare experience.
  • 400 hours or more experience in instrument handling, assembly, decontamination, and Sterilization.
  • CRCST or Surgical Technologist
