Position: Senior Project Manager
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex, high-profile roadway and transportation projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects or large, multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of major contracts and programs.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who demonstrates strong leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise in roadway design and project execution.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee multiple roadway projects or large, complex assignments.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for major contracts and key accounts.
  • Manage scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality control processes across multiple teams.
  • Develop and implement project management best practices within the Road Group.
  • Mentor and coach Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers.
  • Lead business development efforts, including proposal writing, interviews, and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with Group Leaders and executives on strategic pursuits and workload planning.
  • Monitor financial performance and profitability across assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
  • Identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in staff performance reviews and contribute to team development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • 12-18 years of progressive experience in roadway and transportation project management.
  • Proven record managing large DOT or municipal transportation projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing multi-office, multi-discipline project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 10-15 pounds.
