Contract Spanish Teacher (Ages 3–5)

The Anchored School: We are seeking a passionate, creative, and engaging Contract Spanish Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with young children and will provide a fun, immersive, and developmentally appropriate introduction to Spanish for children ages 3–5.
This is a part-time contract position, approximately 2–3 hours per day, two days per week.
Responsibilities: Spanish Language & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Spanish lessons for children ages 3–5.
  • Introduce Spanish vocabulary and simple conversational phrases through songs, stories, games, movement, music, and hands-on activities.
  • Create opportunities for children to hear and use Spanish naturally throughout each lesson.
  • Incorporate age-appropriate cultural experiences from Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Encourage curiosity, participation, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning Spanish.
Classroom Environment

  • Create a warm, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices when planning and delivering instruction.
  • Adapt activities to meet the varying developmental needs, interests, and abilities of young children.
  • Maintain positive classroom routines and expectations.
Collaboration

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure Spanish instruction complements the school's early childhood curriculum.
  • Communicate professionally with teachers and school leadership regarding lessons, student engagement, and classroom needs.
  • Support a consistent, positive experience for children throughout the school day.
Qualifications

Required/Preferred

  • Fluency or strong proficiency in Spanish.
  • Experience working with children ages 3–5.
  • Experience teaching Spanish or providing language instruction to young children preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Creative, patient, energetic, and nurturing approach to working with young children.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain, if required.
