About Us
At Verogy, our mission is to "Impact Positive Change" for our clients, employees, and the environment. We operate based on a set of core values focused on driving positive, productive, and inclusive behavior. Our commitment to excellence and innovation drives us to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge solar projects that make a tangible impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
Your Impact
As a PV Designer/Solar Engineer at Verogy, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of solar projects in the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Utility-scale spaces. Your expertise in solar PV system design and collaboration with cross-functional teams will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.
By creating innovative system layouts and leveraging the latest solar technologies, you will contribute directly to Verogy's mission of delivering industry-leading renewable energy solutions. Your efforts will support the growth of clean energy infrastructure, aligning with Verogy's commitment to sustainability and excellence.
This is a hybrid role based in West Hartford, CT, offering a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration. Candidates should expect to work in-office at least two days a week to engage with team members, attend meetings, and support collaborative projects. The on-site commitment for the first 3-6 months in the role may be higher due to job-specific training.
Your Role:
  • Develop detailed PV system designs, including single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, and site plans, using tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
  • Conduct energy modeling and production analysis to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, project management, and construction) to evaluate layouts, materials, and site-specific conditions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local codes, permitting requirements, and utility interconnection standards.
  • Perform preliminary site assessments and feasibility studies, including shading analysis and interconnection evaluations.
  • Specify and recommend system components such as modules, inverters, and racking systems to align with project requirements.
  • Assist in budget preparations by providing cost estimates for system components and design optimizations.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive design packages, including bills of materials and supporting documentation, for permitting and construction.
  • Stay informed about advancements in solar technologies, industry trends, and best practices to integrate innovation into design work.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Offer versatile support to the Project Management team, which may encompass:
    • Engineering assistance
    • Project support
    • Supervision of on-site construction and engineering surveys

What You'll Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in solar PV design, specifically for C&I and utility-scale projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, local electrical codes, and interconnection standards.
  • Familiarity with structural design considerations and energy storage system (ESS) integration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this role is $65,000-85,000. The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
Benefits
Join us and be a part of an exciting journey towards a sustainable energy future. At Verogy, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, gain exposure to the latest advancements in solar technology, and contribute to a mission that truly matters.
What sets Verogy apart is our passionate team of industry experts who are dedicated to creating a greener future. We foster a dynamic and inclusive work environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. Verogy provides a competitive compensation package along with personal and professional training opportunities, ensuring that our employees are well-supported in their growth and development.

  • Quarterly Bonus Program
  • Performance Based End-of-Year Bonus Program
  • Paid Holidays (total of 10 days per full calendar year of employment)
