Systems Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic engineering team responsible for supporting over 30 MacLean vehicle types and their subsystems. You will play a pivotal role in establishing, evolving, and executing internal processes within the Engineering V-model of design, ensuring our products meet the highest safety and quality standards.

Work Arrangement: Onsite (5 Days per Week)

This position is fully onsite and requires in-person attendance five (5) days per week. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

• Collingwood, ON
• Owen Sound, ON
• Sudbury, ON

Candidates must be able to commute to and work from one of the listed locations on a full-time onsite basis.

Responsibilities

• Support all engineering teams responsible for 30+ MacLean vehicle types and subsystems.
• Establish, evolve, and execute internal processes for the major steps of the Engineering V-model of design.
• Conduct systematic reviews of international and regional standards, customer specifications, and use cases.
• Lead the development of risk assessments and safety concepts, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to define safety-critical functions and risk reduction measures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain safety-related work products, including Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS) and Safety Validation Plans.
• Establish test cases linked to requirements to ensure coverage and compliance, execute tests, and document results.
• Oversee the creation of verification artifacts and validation tests, ensuring alignment with safety integrity requirements.
• Use computational tools like Sistema to validate reliability metrics for system components.
• Establish a world-class testing facility and approach for all testing, including the creation of automated test equipment.
• Own the product design, including the MSS area guarding system and radar barrier device integrations.
