Software Quality Assurance Engineer
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to not just develop software, but to build software that will support critical missions for national security? As a full-stack software quality assurance (QA) and test automation developer, you can solve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast-paced, agile environment. We're looking for a developer with the advanced skills needed to build test automation and high-quality software from vision to production-ready system, and to help mature software development processes and platforms to a DevOps posture, enabled by modern technologies.
This role is more than just coding. We need a software developer who will use their passion for secure, quality software and modern development practices to learn new tools and techniques, including using approved AI tools to recommend and implement DevOps software process improvements, automate testing, configure tools to support secure software QA, and mentor teammates. Using tools like GitLab, ReST, FastAPI and others that you may recommend, and software languages, including Python and JavaScript, you'll build test frameworks, test automation software, and secure software solutions that provide capabilities to support customer missions. You'll leverage communications skills to coordinate with team members and customers in a fast-paced mission environment and collaborate within the Atlassian Suite of tools. You'll analyze the needs and environment to make sure the solution you're developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

You Have:
  • Experience with Software development in Python or JavaScript
  • Experience with software testing, including automated testing
  • Experience with IDEs like VS Code, Visual Studio, or Jetbrains
  • Experience with Docker or Podman
  • Experience with Git, RESTful APIs
  • Experience implementing version control approaches in software pipelines
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or an Engineering field and 3+ years of experience with software, database engineering, or software testing, or 7+ years of experience with software, database engineering, or software testing in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Cypress
  • Experience automating software processes with Github Actions or other automation platforms
  • Experience working with Atlassian Suite, and in the Agile software lifecycle, including Scrum and Kanban approach

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
