Job description

Apple's Rights & Pricing engineering team is the platform behind Apple Services distribution and monetization worldwide. We build and scale the systems that manage distribution rights by country, calculate and administer prices across retail, offers, wholesale, and tax, and run Partner Onboarding - from the vendor application process and digital contract signing to bank and tax information collection, payments, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Join us to modernize a business critical platform that touches every Apple Services partner and every price customers see!
Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is a self-starter, willing to question assumptions, and eager to design, scale, and evolve the systems that power Apple Services rights, pricing, and partner onboarding. You will have the courage and experience to be frank and ambitious, yet humble enough to listen, as you take on complex problems and deliver durable solutions.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Architect and build distributed, fault-tolerant services that manage distribution rights by country and power price calculation across retail, offers, wholesale, and tax at Apple scale.
Own and evolve Partner Onboarding - the vendor application process, digital contract signing, and collection of bank account and tax information - ensuring accuracy, security, and a great partner experience.
Design and modernize the business systems that drive the presentation layers of payments, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Collaborate to solve complex problems and invent innovative solutions, clearly communicating technical approach across engineering, product, and business partners.
Drive modernization of the codebase and maintain a high level of test automation, observability, and monitoring across multiple repositories.
Support ongoing maintenance and release activities, ensuring reliability and continuity for downstream Apple Services partners.
Mentor less experienced software engineers and partner with teams across Apple to develop new capabilities that support business growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience developing software in Java.
Experience designing and developing for large-scale distributed systems.
Experience working with distributed NoSQL and relational databases.
Experience programming in multi-threaded synchronous and asynchronous applications.
Strong background in Unix/Unix-like operating systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka).
Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, LLM-based workflows).
Experience with caching strategies, observability tooling, and system performance tuning.
