*MUST have a PMP certification and 10+ years experience (no exceptions)

Job Description- Project/Program Manager

We are looking for a Project or Program Manager to bring in on a contract-to-hire capacity. We are looking for PMP certified candidates to come in as they start to build out the team that will help standardize the way they drive projects across the organization. Currently they do not have a formal PMO office, but are looking to start hiring PM's that can help them get to the final state in 2027. They currently they have over 20 projects in flight through 2027 and are hiring for someone that can work directly with projects as well as start to recommend best practices as they continue to build more structure to how projects are run thru their life cycle.

They use both Waterfall & Agile methodologies across the organization, typically non-IT groups are Waterfall and IT projects are going to be more Agile based. From a technology project standpoint they are looking for a focus in Network Security, Application vetting & application vendor management, as well as Infrastructure, and AI project history. Currently their team supporting project management is small and consists of an IT PM, another resource, and a couple of BA's and typically each project will have internal sponsors that are responsible for gathering requirements, project plans, etc. Eventually they see this team continuing to grow larger and becoming it's own department within the company, but likely formal growth of that nature will be for 2027 and beyond.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

- Manage Project plans with business and IT stakeholders for all assigned projects - refine, update, etc.

- Organize and define project milestones and dependencies for each project

- Track action items thru their 7 phase project tracker: Discovery, Design, Planning, Development, QA, Deploy, and Completion

- Conduct kick off meeting sessions at the start of each project with all business & IT stakeholders to align goals, expectations, and requirements

- Interface regularly with business reps, executive sponsors, application owners, vendors, and other stakeholders

- Monitor progress, track KPI's, and manage project budgets

- Prepare and present project reports and provide recommendations for improvement

- Train, guide, and mentor staff on Agile topics and industry best practice recommendations to aid in building out formal PMO processes

Key attributes they are looking for:

- Must be PMP certified

- 10+ years of experience in an enterprise project management organization

- Experience specifically within the Network Sec, SAS Application and Application vetting, Infrastructure, and AI spaces is ideal, but not required

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ypsilanti, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
