Job description

Medical Laboratory Technologist

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Assignment Details:

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36.00

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in medical laboratory technology: Required
  • Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Medical Technologist American Medical Technologists (MT-AMT) certification or equivalent: Required in state

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain responsibility for specimen processing, test performance, and result reporting with high accuracy and precision.
  • Work in multiple laboratory sections, including processing, phlebotomy, and microbiology setups.
  • Prepare sterile media and solutions for bacterial cultures and perform tests in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of tests performed and report laboratory test results to appropriate personnel.
  • Recognize and act on Quality Control shifts and trends as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding age/sex-specific expected, therapeutic, abnormal, and critical values.

Compliance / Notes:

  • Evening shifts may consist of varied days and night rotations, all in accordance with facility policies.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
