Salary: Minimum Wage

JOB TITLE: Lot Porter
DEPARTMENT: Service Department
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Lot Porters are responsible for the appearance of the new and used RV lots, including the cleanliness of the RVs and the general appearance of the sales area.




EDUCATION:High school diploma, some college preferred.


EXPERIENCE:


License or Certification: Valid drivers license and good driving record is required


One Year of Experience: A minimum of one-year detailing experience preferred. Experience in RV or automotive dealership environment is preferred.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Transport RVs to and from service bays, stores, gas stations, repair facilities, and locations
  • Keeps new- and used-vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving RV's as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards
  • Make a daily inspection of showroom and service entrance doors and wash as necessary
  • Keep the sidewalk along with street free debris
  • Maintain Dealership premises as directed by Supervisor/Manager
  • Detail and make units ready for delivery, assist with pre-delivery inspections
  • Janitorial work
  • Other duties as assigned






ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:


Lot Porters are exposed to the following conditions


  • Slippery floors
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and weather
  • May be exposed to solvents and chemicals
  • Other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks
  • This is a safety-sensitive position


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:Varied activities including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, stooping. It requires eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity. Frequent lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds. Occasional stress from balancing multiple projects and deadlines.




MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE USED:


  • Forklift and other towing vehicles


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Ability to move RVs of various sizes as needed
  • Ability to organize various physical tasks through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, or bending
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend or stand for long periods of time. In addition, individuals must be able to reach above shoulders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds
