JOB DESCRIPTION

Location/locations: Royal Oak Hospital - 3601 W 13 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI 48073
Shift: Days
Hours: 3p-11:30p
Shift length: 8hrs 
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend rotation: every other
On Call: no
Required certifications: CRCST – through HSPA or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD
Scrub Color: Provided 

Job Summary
1. Sterile instrumentation processing.
2. Terminal cleaning/decontamination of patient care instrumentation and equipment in accordance with regulatory agency standards.
3. Diagnostic and biological testing of all surgical sterilization equipment.
4. Distribution of supplies to hospital departments and nursing units as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Prep & Pack: Re-assemble/wrap instrumentation trays for surgery/various departments per recommended practices. Process stock for surgery/CPD.
  • Decontamination: Responsible for decontamination of patient care equipment/surgical instrumentation, equipment/various department instrumentation.
  • Case carts: Assemble sterile instrumentation/supplies for surgical procedures per OR specifications. Rotation of instrumentation/supplies. Check stock.
  • Sterilization: Responsible for practice of safe/efficient/effective sterilization (steam/Sterrad) procedures. OR/CPD biological testing.
  • Coordinate on time preparation of equipment needed with next day scheduled procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor staff.
  • Consistently demonstrates dedication to the Beaumont customer Service standards (100%).
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of relevant experience Preferred
  • CRT-Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) - HSPA Healthcare Sterile Processing Association 1 Year required
