Opportunity Consultant

Description -

Job Summary

This role serves as a trusted advisor to pursuit, sales, account, and delivery teams by providing financial, commercial, and contractual expertise throughout the deal lifecycle. The Opportunity Consultant leads pricing and profitability analyses, develops financial models and business cases, assesses contractual and operational risks, and drives commercial negotiations to achieve profitable growth. The role supports complex managed services opportunities by ensuring compliance with business policies, governance requirements, and approval processes while helping shape competitive customer solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with pursuit, sales, account, and solution teams to understand customer requirements, scope, assumptions, and contractual obligations.

  • Lead financial modeling, pricing strategy, and profitability analysis for new business opportunities, renewals, and contract amendments.

  • Develop business cases, cost models, investment analyses, and scenario simulations to evaluate opportunity viability and support decision making.

  • Analyze customer operational, financial, and usage data to identify cost drivers, risks, pricing opportunities, and solution recommendations.

  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, service-level obligations, and contractual business principles on behalf of the business.

  • Evaluate contractual risks and collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, operations, and other stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with governance policies, approval frameworks, financial controls, and contracting requirements.

  • Lead and support reviews with executive stakeholders, providing recommendations on deal structure, profitability, risk exposure, and customer value.

  • Facilitate the SOAR approval process by preparing documentation, validating assumptions, and providing commercial and financial guidance.

  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and serve as a key consultant on deal strategy, customer negotiations, and commercial decision making.

  • Provide thought leadership and share best practices related to managed services pricing, financial analysis, contract strategy, and deal governance.

  • Lead moderate- to high-complexity projects and initiatives while supporting broader operational and strategic business objectives.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically 4-7 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, contract management, managed services, outsourcing, business consulting, deal support, or related fields.

  • Experience supporting complex commercial transactions, managed services contracts, or large-scale customer pursuits is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, profitability analysis, pricing methodologies, and business case development.

Salary

The pay range for this role is $87,150 to $126,350 USD annually with additional
opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United
States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience.
