Job description

Contract Coordinator II

Georgia Power is seeking an experienced Contract Coordinator II to manage contractor activities supporting electric distribution construction, maintenance, and storm restoration projects. This role is responsible for coordinating contract crews, ensuring safe and efficient project execution, monitoring contractor performance, and supporting project scheduling, quality, and budget objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive distribution construction experience and strong contract management, communication, and leadership skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and managing contract crews supporting overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, and storm restoration.
  • Scheduling and planning contractor work to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives.
  • Attending pre-construction meetings and coordinating project execution with engineering, operations, contractors, and customers.
  • Monitoring contractor performance, contract compliance, budgets, schedules, and project quality.
  • Reviewing and managing contract documents, amendments, and project closeout activities.
  • Maintaining project documentation, inventory, and contract records.
  • Collaborating with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations on contract-related matters.
  • Analyzing drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction packages.
  • Resolving contractor issues, mitigating project risks, and supporting dispute resolution.
  • Supporting emergency response and participating in storm restoration activities as required.
  • Mentoring junior contract coordinators and promoting continuous improvement.

Required qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of electric distribution engineering and/or construction experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
  • Experience managing contract crews and construction contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project planning, and quality control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with Distribution Viewer, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, and JETS.
  • Utility industry experience supporting electric distribution operations.
  • Experience managing multiple projects across a large service territory.
  • Knowledge of utility contract administration, procurement, and construction standards.
